Cabo Blanco is not a National Park, its title stands a higher status: The Absolute Reserve. As the name suggest this place is reserve for conservation for posterity. It was later in the history of the place that a selected area of its range was open to the public, in order to help the neighbour community of Cabuya with tourism.
In the early 70’s conservation was beyond the understanding of the common sense in the entire country. In fact the decades beforehand experimented a fast decrease in forest coverage, specially in the Nicoya Peninsula. It was then that this land started conservation with the vision of true pioneers. This initiated a movement to preserve nature, a movement that now transcends into the public national parks.

Each option presents great chances for nature encounters and amazing forest interpretation. Make sure you are first on the trail and keep your eyes open!

Important Information
To make the best out of the activity your guide will pick you up at your hotel or residence at 6:15 AM and travel with you to your destination. Forget about looking up directions to find your way there or any other small travel concerns and start the experience stress free from the moment you leave your place of accommodation.
Upon arrival, your guide will quickly complete the check-in process and begin the nature hike. In the short option the loop will included secondary forest as well as mature developed forest. Ups and downs wont be a major challenge. Monkeys, birds and amazing trees will be the target.
On the second long hike option we will extend the hike and increase the challenge as you will have to go up and down from sea label to 240 meters twice! As you get down the last part of the hill the sound of the ocean will encourage you and the view from the sand will be the price as well as the resting time before doing all back out of the park.
Depends on your time the drive back can take you into another route to have the chance to explore more the area. Your private guide will leave you back at your place of accommodation.
